Qmusic launches an interactive digital radio

As of July 2019, Qmusic will start Q-Maximum Hits. Via Q-app listeners will be able to select the song they want to hear from an alternative choice. As in the past, when this all happened via phone (!), the song with the larger number of votes will be aired. Q-Maximum Hits wil be available via Q-app, Qmusic.be et DAB+.

RTBF Mix on DAB+ in Flanders

As already explained RTBF has stopped any AM broadcasting in 2019. To maintain free access to their porogrammes for French speaking people living in Flanders, RTBF subcontracted the RTBF Mix package to the owner of the Flemish network. Via DAB+ everyone in Flanders may listen to the 3 main stations of RTBF in terms of audience: La Première, Classic 21 and Vivacité. This provides listeners with more stable and better digital quality sound than the analogue AM did in the past.

Tomorrowland digital radio

Tomorrowland is now 15 years old. As a celebration, it launches ‘Tomorrowland One World Radio‘, own digital station together with a content platform.

Until August 31, its programmes will be available via the website and the Tomorrowland  App. DAB+ broadcasting is also foreseen in Brussels and in Flanders.

Programmes will consist of top 30 made up by fans, exclusive sounds, sets and shows by the most famous performers at Tomorrowland.

13e Rue at Transfer

"13e Rue" is a French-speaking channel focused on thrillers and detective series. Subsidiary of NBCUniversal International Networks, it is available via the following providers: VOO, Proximus, Orange and Telenet. They claim to broadcast previously unseen series. In 2018 they aired oa Law & Order True Crime, Berlin Station S1 et S2, Chicago Fire S6, Deep State and Condor. Starting February 2019, their inventory is to be commercialised by Transfer. Transfer announces an average audience share at 2% on shoppers 18-54 years, but that should be confirmed.

Addressable ads soon on Medialaan too

The implementation is announced around the summer. At Medialaan, addressable advertising is already there in their VOD platform Stievie. But their objective now is to go into linear TV breaks with addressable ads, like it is already implemented by SBS Belgium. Addressable TV spots in the linear programmes of Medialaan should imply cooperation with providers as Telenet, Proximus and Orange. It would give additional scale to this new way of advertising/ More to come in the following weeks.
