New HLN App, 4 in 1

The new version of the HLN App (IOS & Android) consists of 4 topics: “News’, ‘Nearby’ ("In de buurt"), ‘Video’ & ‘Fun’. "News" will remain the biggest one, while the most innovative is the "Fun" channel, with over 30 games, quizz or puzzles "In de Buurt" covers granular local information. For "Video", new formats will be proposed. All current users will be automatically updated.

Medialaan-DPP annouces that viewability of ad formats has been enhanced in this new version. Daily reach of the App was over 400.000 users 12+ in March-April 2019 (source: CIM Internet).

New video format on Spotify

Spotify launches new video format : Mobile Video TakeOver = vertical video format that covers the whole surface.  The application of Spotify provids a “brand safe” environment for advertisers where commercials can be played in 100% professional and legal context with limited advertising clutter (only 1 video commercial per break).  No scrolling needed to see the ad.

Larger free access to Spotify

Spotify promotes their free services by diminishing the constraints on free users. From now on these people may access up to 15 updated playlists per day, that represents ± 150 songs or 40 hours of music. Content is customised to the selected genres and artists. A preslection will be made during the first session and will be then refined based on the Spotify-algorihm. This new feature also decreases the data usage when streaming is used on mobile Internet.
